Belly Pictures

Here are a few belly pictures! I am going to try and take them weekly, so we will see how that goes. I have a pooch, but it is smaller in the morning and gets bigger by the end of the day. My jeans and shorts are starting to get tight in the belly area, and I usually have to unbutton them when I sit down or by the end of the day.

1st Doctor's Appointment

We had our very first doctor's appointment this week Tuesday, July 7th. I am now 9 weeks preggers! We first had our sonogram and were able to see our little peanut:)! We saw and heard the heartbeat. The heartbeat was a fast 171 bpm. What an amazing experience. We then met our doctor, Dr. Read. We absolutely LOVE him! Dr. Read does not know my exact due date, because my last period says February 9th and the sonogram said February 14th (a Valentine's BABY). Dr. Read will not let me carry longer than February 17th. I have been actually feeling pretty good, even though my adoring husband said I am quite cranky, which I think he is imagining ;). I have had no morning sickness, just nauseated if I do not eat right away and at certain times. Which means I snack A LOT. I have been very tired and usually ready to be in bed and watching tv by 8:00 and asleep by 9:30 or 10:00. What a little party pooper :). I crave random stuff. Today I want Chipotle and yesterday I wanted Arby's...very random. I used to barely ever eat fast food and cooked most our dinners, not happening as much now. That is going to start again next week. I was sick July 5th with vomiting and could not keep anything down all day. Dr. Read said it was probably due to a stomach bug or being worn out and overly tired from the July 4th weekend at the lake house with all our friends. I was staying up till 1:00 or 2:00 am every night. I sure did not want to miss out on any of the debauchery....haha.

June 9th we found out we were expecting our first little bundle of joy! Ben had been suggesting I was pregnant due to all my "signs". I woke up Tuesday morning and thought, "why not take one...I was a few days late". While I was waiting anxiously I prayed and prayed that it would be positive. The + sign basically showed up instantly! I was so ecstatic! How would I tell Ben? He was at work so I did not want to tell him to come home...he would figure it out instantly. So, I decided to email him . I took a picture of the pregnancy test with my Iphone and "I think you might be a DADDY! :)" and emailed it to him. He called me 10 minutes later and was soooo excited! He surprised me and came home with a beautiful bouquet of flowers. I calculated and found out I was 5 weeks preggers! I wanted to wait and tell all the family on Father's Day and incorporate it into a Father's Day gift. We couldn't NOT tell anyone, so we called both our moms and told them. Ben tried to get me to tell them the news, but I was so emotional that I could NOT get any words out in between my sobs of joy. We also had to tell my Nana, since it was her birthday! I instantly went out and tried to find something to surprise the Grandfathers and Great Grandfathers. I decided on decorating a picture frame with a picture of my belly and the + pregnancy test. Man, this was going to be a long time to keep our exciting news from everyone.





Father's Day weekend finally arrived. We headed down to the Hick's Lake house on Thursday. We first had to make a stop at Billie and Allie's house to give cousin Brigham a little gift. We gave Billie an Uncle Father's Day card, and for sweet little Brigham, I had bought a baby powder scented Yankee Candle and decorated it with "Cousin Brigham" with a big pink bow.



We then headed to the lake house and waited for Joy, Dickie, PawPaw, Marianna, and Aunt Debbie. When they all arrived Ben and I sat the new PawPaw and Great PawPaw down for their presents. We had them both open their gifts at the same time. We have it all video taped. Boy, were they surprised! At first they did not put two and two together, but they soon realized why I was showing my belly in the picture. There was tons of excitement and happy emotions!





We came back from the lake house on Saturday and had my family over on Sunday. I was cooking dinner for everyone. As soon as they arrived we had to tell them right away. The newest Pops and Great Papa opened their gift simultaneously and were just as surprised as the other grandfathers. They also did not get it at first, but soon realized. There was more excitement and joyful emotions. We then proceeded to call the rest of the family. I was so excited to tell my brother, but he was unfortunately at an away game (he plays baseball for the Ft. Worth Cats). I text him and told him to call me when he got on the bus. He finally called at 11:00 pm. I told him the news, and he had to tell the whole bus, haha. He LOVES little ones. What an exciting and emotional filled Father's Day that we will NEVER forget! Man, were we glad the cat was finally out of the bag! Secrets for Ben are not the easiest thing for him....hahaha!
