Drum Roll Please......

.....And Baby Hicks # 2 is a Sweet Baby......
BOY!!!!
Looks like we will be adding a lot more BLUE to our lives! We are so excited and so truly blessed to be welcoming Bennie (Bennett... what he will go by) Dixon Hicks IV into this world come April! We found out Wednesday, November 24th at 10:30 am just what our little munchkin was. We had told everyone that we were not finding out the gender until December 1st, but were secretly finding out earlier. We wanted to surprise all of our family at Thanksgiving, since both of our families come together at the Hick's for this holiday. Ben was asked to say the blessing, and what a great way to announce this Big Secret. At the end of the prayer Ben slipped in:
I want to thank you for our little boy Bennett Hicks who will be here in April. In your name I pray Amen.
We heard a little giggle and complete silence. Everyone thought that Ben was just kidding, until he said, "Not a joke... We are having a Boy!" Everyone was so excited and a few even shed a tear. We have so much to be thankful for!!
Here's a few snap shots of Bennett ;)

8 Months

We LOVE staring into those Big Baby Blues
First bite of chocolate cake... courtesy of Mr. Andrew Tatsak! He won her over that day!
Look at the pure delight on both of their faces!
Go Rangers! Watching the World Series!
Arrington with her Daddy and God-Father, Uncle Justin!
We sure do have a growing girl! Like I say every month, I can't believe we already have an 8 month old! Three and 1/2 months and we will be celebrating her First Birthday, which I have already started on some of the details. I even have her 2nd birthday theme picked out already ;). We love our little snuggle bug and enjoy every second with her. She is the twinkle in our eyes, can melt our hearts with every smile, and we live for morning when she awakens from her sweet slumber. We love you sweet baby girl, and can't imagine life without you. You have blessed our life beyond imagination!
  • 16 lbs. 6 oz.
  • Phe level 264, a little higher than what we are used to, but this is due to her eating regular food, just praying it does not go above 360, but the doctors are not too concerned
  • loves her some cheerios or anything she can feed herself, our little Miss Independent
  • claps her hands
  • can sit up from laying position
  • plays peek-a-boo and usually the initiator to this game
  • pats her baby
  • takes a bath like a big girl (without her seat)
  • down to 2 naps a day, but we have moved up her bedtime to anywhere from 7:15-8:00 at the latest
  • sleeping through the night again since I have been tricking her bottle up with a little cereal
  • wakes up at 8:00 am
  • starting to get up on all fours, I think we will have a mobile baby sometime in the very near future
  • still no teeth
  • having her kiki at bedtime is a must
  • takes her paci only in the car and at bedtime
  • will only eat big people food.... green beans, carrots, and anything that I eat that is a good consistency for her. Yogurt is her favorite at breakfast. She basically refuses baby food now
  • loves to give out Kisses on demand! Mommy and Daddy's favorite
  • babbles all the time
  • still has not spent the night away. I can't imagine not waking up to her smiling face in the morning
  • size 2 diaper
  • size 6 month clothing and 9 month pj's due to length
  • has some of the smallest feet, she still can only wear newborn shoes, and she usually takes them off

    Sweet Sweet Baby Update

I am now out of my first trimester and into my 15th week of pregnancy! Wow, this pregnancy has flown by! I guess it helps when you don't find out your pregnant until almost into your 7th week. The sonographer at first told me that I was 5 weeks along at my first sonogram, but I knew this was not true. Since Arrington measured small the doctor had us do another sonogram at my 11 week appointment... and Momma knew best! Sure enough I was already 11 weeks along at our last doctors appointment. I had been feeling the pregnancy symptoms for a few weeks prior when I had my first sono, which is how I knew I was further along. One of the big symptoms was my lack of breast milk for Arrington. My plan was to breast feed her until she was 12 months old, but  unfortunately I had to quit at 7 months. We had a very good run though ;). It definitely took Arrington a little getting used to formula and I had to trick up her bottles with prune juice to get her to drink it, but now she is drinking bottles like a champ.
We just got back from our 15 week checkup and everything looks great! I absolutely LOVE hearing our sweet baby's strong heartbeat. I am just starting to show to where it look like a baby belly instead of a pudgy tummy. I have also been feeling the lil peanut move around a bit since around the 13th week. I love feeling those little flutters! I have been more sick with this pregnancy and have actually been sick sick here and there from around 7 weeks on till just around a few days ago. Where, with Arrington that did not happen and I was feeling better by my 12th week. I have also been so exhausted and just plain worn out. It's all worth it though in the end. Welcoming our little one into this world and staring into those sweet baby eyes is a day that will be indescribable and that we are looking forward to! We are so excited for Baby #2! We can't wait to find out if this lil peanut is going to be wearing lots of PINK or BLUE! We would love to hear what you think Baby Hicks will be! I have a poll set up on the top right corner of our page or you can leave a comment!
Here's a few prego pics of Momma's growing belly!

    Wickedly Cute Halloween

Halloween was so special and fun this year all due to one little girl! That's right, our little Arrington!
We started Halloween off by heading up to Smash Burger to grab some lunch. This is one of Arrington's favorite spots to eat. She loves to sit outside next to the fountains and watch all the birds and people walk by. Oh, and it's prime opportunity for her to shreek and let her voice be heard, which is another one of her faves now days!

Wickedly Cute.... and that she is!

We then had all the Grandparents over to come see our lil lamb. Lovie and B-Paw brought over some delicious chili and Lolli and Pops brought all the fixins for chili dogs and frito pie. We had ourselves a yummy feast! Arrington even participated in eating some chili, and boy did she LOVE it! It was way too hot outside for this lil lamb's costume, and since I had purchased it almost 2 months ago, it was a little too small. Poor punkin' had marks from where her costume squeezed her legs. We changed her into a costume I had bought for her last year after Halloween before she was born. Thank goodness I did all that well thought ahead buying ;)...hehe. We then headed over to our church's carnival. It was packed and they had so much to do, but unfortunately there wasn't much for an 8 month old, so we headed back home after only 45 minutes. Oh, and did I mention the Rangers were playing in the World Series so all the guys were ready to head back to watch the big game. Ben and I then took our lil punkin trick or treating for a bit. Arrington had so much fun and we can't wait to do this many more years to come! Holidays are so much more fun now with our little one around!
Hannah and Justin stopped over to see the lil lamb!

Excited to open up her Halloween baskets
    Look at all those goodies!!!

Kisses for her new baby... so sweet

    Boo-tiful At The Zoo

This past Saturday we headed over to Boo at the Zoo in Fort Worth. We were supposed to go on Friday, but I either caught a nasty case of the stomach virus or some kind of pregnancy yuck. Billie, Allie, and Brigham had the same idea as we did, so we all met up at the entrance. The girls had such a great time together. We had them both dressed up in their costumes and they looked so Boo-tiful!  Arrington a lil' lamb and Brigham a fairy! We did the whole Boo at the Zoo part, (which by the way was not very good this year), and then walked around the zoo and had some yummy ice cream.
Not too happy about her head attire

Not the best picture, but at least we tried ;)

    Daddy's and their princesses
    Checking out the animals

It's so hard to get a good picture of them together. Arrington would not look up and Brigham thought this rock was a slide ;)
