Lately...

Last weekend Ben went out of town on a guys trip to Chicago. Ben had such a great time! The guys did some touring of Chicago... went and saw Wrigley Field, Sears Tower, stopped and ate at some famous restaurants, went out a couple of nights, and for the finale played in the Tommy Lasorta golf tournament, which was for the Italian Sports Hall of Fame. The night before the tournament they went out in Little Italy to a festival. They were talking to some people and actually ended up eating at a famous Italian restaurant with Tommy Lasorta and some other famous boxers. The owner had closed down the restaurant and was only open for the people in the picture below. Ben had such a great weekend with all the guys!

This was my first weekend staying at the house without my hubby and I am happy to announce that I made it! :) Friday night I just chilled and rented some movies at Blockbuster. Saturday I went shopping with Hannah, Ashley, and Ashley's mom and grandmother. We ate lunch at EatZizi's, then proceeded to shop all day long. It was tax free weekend and the malls were CRAZY! We went to Flirt, Sam Moon's, Nordstrom Rack, and the last stop was North Park Mall. We really did not find what we were looking for till the last store at North Park. Hannah and I were looking for a dress for the guys reunion and I also needed to find a yellow dress for our gender reveal party. Shopping while pregnant is NOT fun... nothing fits like it is supposed to. After about 7 hours of shopping we went and ate at one of my favs, Manny's. I had the most delicious fajitas! By that night my stomach and the little one were not happy with my selection of food. I had indigestion Saturday night and all day Sunday. YUCK, guess it comes with the territory of pregnancy. Sunday my mom and I went out to Southlake and did a little shopping, then went to NorthEast Mall. For some reason I keep getting really light headed and almost fainting. I start sweating, seeing black dots, and have to sit down immediately in fear that I might just pass out and hit my head. This has happened 3 times now during my 2nd trimester. Not sure what this is all about. I had just had lunch and 5 minutes before had a cookie. Did anyone else experience this? I am going to ask the doctor at my next appointment. I was so glad for Ben to come home and I missed him so much!

On another note, my Papa was in the hospital this past week. He went to the ER early last Wednesday morning with pain. They checked him in and found blood clots in both his lungs. He was in there for a full week and was not allowed to get up for 5 of the days, due to the blood clots. He got out yesterday and is doing much better. My aunt left for Egypt on Friday ( my Aunt, Uncle, and one of my cousins live there, due to my Uncle working for an oil company) and my cousin Nathan went back to college. We decided to have a quick family photo while we were visiting my Papa in the hospital. Please keep my Papa in your prayers

This morning Ben and I took the Intelligender test. We can not tell anyone what the results are, but can't wait to see if this test actually works. It said it is 94%-84% accurate. We shall see...hehe. Two weeks and counting!!!!!

Baby Briggs May

Frankie and Katie welcomed a healthy beautiful baby boy today! Mommy and baby are doing great! Little Briggs weighed 7 lbs 14 oz and was 21 1/4 inches long. He is such a cutie and looks so much like big brother Brooks. Congrats to the new family of four!

Busy Bee's

Ben and I have had such fun and busy weekends over the past two weekends. Last weekend we had Hillary's birthday dinner at The Original on Friday, Yummy. We had so much fun and got the chance to catch up with some people we had not seen in awhile. We then went to Jackson's safari themed 1st birthday on Saturday morning. Andrea did such a great job and everything was so cute! Later that afternoon we went to Brooks' dump truck themed 2nd birthday. It was so adorable and I loved the delicious dump truck dirt pudding pie! That night we then had Kaki's 21st birthday at Esperanzas, which is owned by the same people who own Joe T's. They had an AMAZING band, the cutest cake, and of course delicious Joe T's was catered. A couple of times I had to smell the margaritas...my mouth was watering for one. No worries though, I had a virgin strawberry daiquiri and more cake that weekend than I can think about. Man, were we pooped by the end of Saturday night. I really wish I would have taken some more pictures of this eventful weekend.

This past weekend Angie, Jason, Ben, and I went and saw the Time Traveler's Wife. It was good, and I definitely had a few meltdowns. Angie and Ben were laughing at me, I seem to cry so easily now. Yesterday I was at a light when a motorcycle cop stopped traffic. Tons and tons of motorcycle's went zooming by for probably 5-7 minutes. I thought it was for a funeral, since a funeral home is right down the street. I got all choked up and tears started streaming down my face...Big Baby. Come to find out I was talking to my MIL and she told me it was some motorcycle ride they have around Arlington each year. Wow, did I feel stupid. Ha. Anyway, Saturday night we headed down to the Stockyards for a surprise birthday dinner for John. We went to Risky's Steakhouse, because Baylee had said that John had been dying to try Risky's because they served cow balls. GROSS. Well John had his cow balls, and I even tried a teeny little bite. John described them as tasting like chicken, but some parts it's like chicken jello. I think from now on I will pass on cow balls, and am so glad I did not get the jello part.

I have been feeling great and the belly just keeps on getting bigger :)! I have actually really enjoyed pregnancy so far. My jeans definitely do not fit anymore, as you can tell in the pictures. I am having to wear the bella band, which can be uncomfortable when I am sitting too long. I am on a search for maternity jeans. I have looked everywhere and none of them seem to fit me because most of them start at a size 4. They are huge in the booty and the legs. I have been to Destination Maternity, Motherhood, Burlington, Target, and A Pea In A Pod. A Pea In A Pod did have a pair that fit me, but were $230, and I think that is just so high for maternity jeans that I will not be wearing for that long. Does anyone have any suggestions???? Here are my 14 week pictures.

Angel Acrobatics

I am pretty sure that last night I felt our little angel move. I was laying in bed on my back and turned to my right side. I felt the little one move away from the left side...it felt like a big bubble, AMAZING! I can't wait for the stronger kicks and movements, and for Ben to be able to experience them. On another note, we are exactly 4 weeks from finding out if our little angel is a prince or princess. Can't wait!

13 Week Appointment

We just got back from our 2nd doctors appointment. Everything is great and we most definitely have a little wiggle worm. Our nurse could not find our little munchkins heartbeat with the doppler, but we could hear our baby moving. Every time our nurse would get close, our wiggle worm would move to the other side. Our nurse had Dr. Read come in and try to find the heartbeat. He was a little more successful. We would start to hear the sound of galloping horses (baby's heartbeat), but then our little one would run away. We set up our next appointment, which will be in 5 weeks, September 11th! At this appointment I will be 18 weeks and we will find out if our little munchkin is "sugar and spice, and all things nice" OR "snips and snails, and puppy dog tails". We CAN"T wait! Will it be blue or pink for our little one???????

Officially 13 Weeks!!!!!

So, I have not posted anything in such a long time. I feel like we have been so busy this summer, but no complaints there, I love having lots of things to do. We have our second doctors appointment (13 wks) tomorrow! WOO HOO! I absolutely hate having to wait a month in between appointments. I also hate that we will not have a sonogram at this appointment. All I want is to see my little munchkin, and how much he/she has grown. I read today that our baby is now the size of a peach. The baby bump is getting bigger, and it has come out of hiding over this past week! LOVE IT! :-) I have not been nauseated in some time. I really only felt bad for 3 weeks out of the first trimester. I was tired and nauseated by certain foods, or if I did not eat every 3-4 hours. I have NO complaints though, because I feel it was an easy first trimester compared to many other people's stories I have heard. Last week (12 weeks) I started to get my energy back and have felt great!
