First Baby Kicks For Daddy

Last night was the first time that Ben got the chance to feel Arrington kick! Ben was so excited and said that he finally felt in the loop. I have only felt her a few times with my hand, since her kicks are still not very strong. But, last night she was MOVING and the kicks were definitely a lot stronger. I am so happy that Daddy and Arrington shared a sweet moment :). We are looking forward to many more of those strong kicks!

FIRST OFF....TODAY I AM OFFICIALLY HALF WAY THROUGH MY PREGNANCY! WOOHOO!!!! I have truly enjoyed pregnancy and am so thankful because I have had such an easy one. I'm praying that the last 20 weeks is just as great!

We went to the doctor Friday, September 11th and found out we are having a sweet baby GIRL! She is perfect and Daddy and Mommy could not be any happier! The sono tech said that she is measuring small and was only 6 oz, which I had assumed since Ben and I were both small babies....I was three weeks late and still only weighed 6 lbs. 12 oz and Ben was also in the low 6 lbs range. Dr. Read wants us to have another sonogram in early November to see her growth progress, since she is measuring small and to get a better idea on her due date. Dr. Read is still not going to let me carry her past Feb. 17th, so as of right now if she does not come before then, he will induce me on the 17th. While we were having our sonogram little Arrington had the hiccups, which was so cute! Her little body was moving up and down with each one. The sono tech said that Arrington has some long skinny feet, I wonder where she gets that from :)! She also said that Arrington is positioned low, which explains why I am constantly having to use the restroom....she must love sitting on Mommy's bladder. We also heard her heartbeat on the doppler and the nurse said she was a "wild child". I am feeling her move more often, but mostly at night when I first lay down on my back or after a big meal. I have felt her kick 4 times with my hand, but Ben has unfortunately not had the chance to feel her kick yet. Hopefully she will start doing some acrobats for Daddy. That night we had the gender reveal party. Ben and I wore yellow and everyone else either wore pink or blue depending on if they thought it was a boy or girl. It was so hard all day to keep the secret from everyone and to remind yourself to say "the baby" or "it" instead of "her" or "she". It was storming so bad outside and people were getting soaked coming in. Everything was decorated so cute and the cake was perfect. Around 8:30 or 9:00 we finally cut the cake and did the big reveal! The knife revealed pink frosting on the inside! Our moms were so shocked because they just knew it was a boy, and the Dads had guessed right all along :)! We are so blessed beyond measure to have such amazing and supportive family and friends... especially to drive in that bad storm! We can not wait to meet our little princess, Arrington Elizabeth Hicks! She is going to be Mommy and Daddy's little angel and will have us wrapped around her little finger instantly!





Oh, and for all of you who were wondering about the IntelliGender test....the test was wrong.

Relaxing Labor Day Weekend

This past weekend Ben and I headed down to the lake house at Possum Kingdom for a relaxing weekend. We had such a great time. We took the jet skis out a couple of times, took a few boat rides, got some sun, and hung out at the Crudup's house two of the nights. We really have not had a relaxing weekend in some time it felt like. Going to P.K. with no plans and to just relax is just what we needed! Here's a little lake house belly shot :)

Happy Birthday Ben!

I just wanted to give a little shout out to my wonderful husband on his 29th birthday. Ben you are my everything and I thank God everyday for blessing me with such a kind, caring, and loving husband. You are going to be such a great Daddy and I can not wait to start this new journey that lies ahead. Seeing you with our little one for the first time is going to completely melt my heart. Our little angel is so lucky to have such a wonderful Daddy. I love you more than you could imagine! Happy Birthday, you old man ;)! xoxo

Ben's 10 Year Reunion

This past weekend was Ben's 10 year high school reunion, and what a blast we had! The boys started out Friday morning with a game of golf and Friday night we went to a pre-reunion get together at BlackFinn. We first had dinner with the crew, then joined everyone out on the patio for some drinks. I of course treated myself to water and lime juice (one of my favs right now), and a virgin fruity drink that was way to acidic. There were quite a few people for the get together at BlackFinn, and we had a blast socializing with everyone. Ben and I did not end up getting home till 1:00 am.

Saturday a few people came over and we swam and laid out by the pool, and tried to catch a few rays. The weather was absolutely beautiful this weekend, and the temperature was perfect. Please....NO more high temperatures of 100+. Saturday night we headed down to Stockyard Station to begin the reunion festivities. We had such a great time and everyone got a chance to catch up, and I met some of Ben's high school friends. The reunion was supposed to end at 11:00, but the DJ didn't close it down till midnight. After we decided to walk down to The White Elephant and stayed till the bouncer was yelling at us to leave at 2:00 am. What a late night for Mrs. Prego here! I of course was the D.D. and drove a few people home, and I had to make a stop at Whataburger for a little late night snack of potato, egg, and cheese taquito and some hash brown sticks....delish! Ben and I did not end up getting home till an early 3:30 am ;)! We had such a great weekend! Ben has such an amazing group of friends and I truly do not know what we would do without them :)!
