Just wanted to let everyone know that my Aunt and Uncle made it out safely out of Egypt and are now in London. My Aunt left Monday, but my Uncle had to stay. He could not get his passport out of the BP office, and BP needed him to stay for a little longer. He finally was able to evacuate on Wednesday and made it safely to London. They did have to leave their beloved dog behind with a friend, but hopefully he will be fine. Thank you for all your prayers!
This is all from my Aunt's facebook page:
Peace be with those that are in Egypt dutifully trying to preserve their nation in anyway possible. No matter what you see on the tv a vast majority of Egyptians are very peaceful and loving people. They are mostly very poor and uneducated. My heart really breaks for those that rely on so little and for right now do not even have that.
This is outside their home down the street. There is smoke in the air from fire and a makeshift barracade, so that vehicles can not come in. The local residents found anything possible to block all streets and still continue to stand guard all night with clubs, guns, bats, molotiv cocktails (gas bombs), and whatever they have.
Waiting for the plane... it took 12 hours for my Aunt to finally leave
