SO CLOSE! 38 & 39 Week Appointments

38  Weeks
I had my 38 week appointment last Thursday on April 7th, and everything looks great! I was still only dilated to a 1 and effaced 50-60%. So, progress has been made! Our doctor felt Bennett and seems to think he is 6 lbs. 8 oz. and guessing he will be around 7 lbs. 5 oz. when born. I have felt great and still have had plenty of energy. Arrington, Ben, and I have been going on plenty of walks and playing outside in this beautiful weather, soaking in every minute of just us 3. I can't believe that pretty soon we will be a family of 4! Time has just flown by! We go back next Friday for my 39 week appointment and a final sonogram of the little man before his arrival!

39 Weeks
Ben, Arrington, and I went to take a final peek at our sweet 'lil baby boy this morning. Bennett looked great and 'ready for go time'! The sonogram showed him weighing 6 lbs. 14 oz, give or take a pound... We shall see in a short (going to seem like forever for Mommy and Daddy) 5 days! Big Sister was not too happy at first when I went to lay down on the table and they squirted the sono gel on my tummy. She soon relaxed when we told her everything was ok... sweet baby.  Eekk, I hope she isn't scared when she comes to visit me in the hospital.  I am almost dilated to a 2, effaced 60%, and showing progress in the right direction. We will have our final appointment next Tuesday and will be due to check in at the hospital on Wednesday at 5:30 am! I will have to say that it is nice to have everything planned out, especially since we have our baby girl to also think about.
I can't wait to see Arrington's face and reaction when she meets her baby brother for the first time.
Will there be excitement? Or will she be upset that Mommy is holding a new little one? I'm a little nervous, as I'm sure most second time Mom's are, about how I will be able to spread my love and attention to both.  I know it will all work out and it all falls into place. It also makes me sad to think that Arrington's world is going to be turned upside down. I'm praying for an easy transition for our sweet baby girl.  In a few weeks, I'm sure she won't even remember life without her sweet, sleeping, crying, pooping, baby brother ;).

Please say a prayer for a smooth delivery, healthy happy baby boy, and a smooth transition for Big Sister!

Don't make me tear up...so sweet to think about our little ones meeting a baby to share Mommy, and I'm sure its very worrisome. She'll be great because she has such loving, caring parents! Good luck, Liz!!!

She will LOVE her baby brother! Girls have that maternal instinct and will love having a baby around. You'll love being a Mom of 2 and will do such a great job at it :)
